Video production, brief to delivery
Skills
A production company's jobs, crew, shoot days and deliverables in one place, instead of spread across spreadsheets and message threads.
A small video production team runs on information that lives everywhere except where the work happens: the brief in email, the shoot date in someone's calendar, the shot list in a doc, the deliverable in a storage link. Nothing is wrong with any one of those, but together they mean no one can answer the simple question of what state a job is in without asking three people.
I designed and built a production hub around the job as the unit of work: a job carries its brief, its crew, its shoot days and its deliverables, so the state of the work is a property of the job rather than something reconstructed from a thread. The client runs it on their own infrastructure, in their own accounts, so nothing about it depends on me continuing to be involved.
Delivered and handed over. The team is testing it against their own way of working before the first real production goes through it, which is the right order: the tool should bend to the process rather than the other way round.
